The power of Wisconsin and the top captivating moments in stem cell research

Wisconsin is home to the pioneers in human pluripotent stem cells that has shaped the entire field of regenerative medicine. Beginning in 1995 with the first successful non-human primate embryonic stem cell cultures, to the isolation of the world’s first human embryonic stem cell (hESC) lines in 1998, and the groundbreaking reprogramming of human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSC) in 2007, Wisconsin discoveries have paved the way for central advancements in our understanding of human biology and disease.
