Tanya Potcova is the CEO and Founder of Captivate Bio. Tanya has a substantial background in establishing and growing companies in the life science industry. Tanya started Captivate Bio in order to develop and provide new cell culture products and services to the research community with a focus on US manufacturing.
Previously, she served as CEO of Biological Industries USA (acquired by Sartorius in 2020) and has held leadership positions at BD Biosciences, Stemgent (acquired by Reprocell), and ESI BIO/BioTime (now part of AgeX Therapeutics). Tanya has extensive experience in the commercialization of key stem cell technologies to include the Falcon®, Matrigel®, NutriStem®, HyStem®, PLTGold® and ES Cell® brands as well as media manufacturing and driving the market adoption of the very first mRNA reprogramming technology in 2012. Tanya is a founding member of six startup companies, all of which remain in business today.
Lori Oakes is the Managing Partner and Founder of Captivate Bio. Lori drives Captivate Bio’s daily strategic and operational effectiveness of the organization. Lori has a cytogenetics background and brings more than twenty-five years of experience in diagnostics and life sciences. Previously, she has held senior management positions at Rainbow Scientific, Ipsogen (acquired by Qiagen), and Biological Industries USA (now part of Sartorius).
Lori served on the UCONN Diagnostic Genetic Sciences Advisory Board. She has significant experience with distribution, FISH probes, cytogenetics media, and molecular diagnostics. Lori currently is a member of the Association of Genetic Technologists and CT Women in Bio.
