DMEM is used as a common basal medium in the growth of various mammalian cells, including fibroblasts, HUVECs, neurons, and glial cells.
DMEM/F-12 is a basal medium used in the growth of human ES and iPS cells include MDCK, glial cells, fibroblasts, and human endothelial cells.
RPMI 1640 basal medium is used to support adherent and suspension cultures as well as a variety of mammalian cells, including HeLa, Jurkat, PBMCs, and astrocytes.
MEM is a commonly used cell culture media, used to support a variety of mammalian cells. MEM-NEAA is often used as a supplement which stimulates growth and prolongs the viability of cells in culture.
