Donor horse serum is often utilized in bovine virus research applications since it does not contain bovine antibodies. It is also used as a supplement in some bacteriological media. Donor horse serum can be a cost-effective alternative to fetal bovine serum and can be used in a variety of cell culture applications. Donor horse serum is collected from closed herds that are carefully controlled and inspected by veterinarians.
